Had a bit of a shock today. We got an e mail from our enegy company (E On) that said they had signed up to the 10:10 campaign. There's so mnay of these things around I half tuned off. Anyway, it sadi if you go to their website and log in you can see your gas and electricity useage for the last 2 years and see if you want to try and reduce your carbon footprint by 10% in 2010 (that's the aim of the 10:10 campaign. Anyway, we have done a fair bit at home over recent months with recycling etc (down from 4 bags of general waste a week to 1 bag general and 2 recycled) so I thought I would have a look.

Well I was blown away as (as you can see above) we are actually 12.3% down on our energy useage on last year (0.44 tonnes of carbon dioxide). That's the equivelant of nearly 10,000 miles in a car less last year! Cool eh?

I know it's only didly squat in the big scheme of things but if we all did it....? Now to 2010 to get it down another 10%....
