Choices: 21/01/2012
 Well, can you believe it!? Thursday night was 'choices' evening at Esme's school: That phase of life where it all starts to get very serious as she looks at her options for the next couple of years leading to GCSE's. Scary days....! At present Es is quite keen on looking at some kind of work with people and especially kids - child development/child psychology/social work - something like that.... The pressure was on to choose 'the right qualifications to ensure that this leads her into the course of her choice until the deputy head started off his presentation with a fact that 'kids leaving school these days will do around 38 jobs before they are 45!!'. Bit of pressure off then to choose what she likes linked with good, sound qualifications and maybe that will give her the base for her selection of careers!! 1 Comment Oh how I have failed!: 15/02/2010
 Disaster eh??! I really wanted to keep the old blogging up this year but, as ever, I have failed desperatly - woe is me!!! Sorry to the few that do follow this...Here's another attempt to blog again. I got a new Blackberry (BB) the other day (more on that another time!) and, as opart of loading it with pics etc sorted out some of the old phones that we need to get rid of. How embaressing to realise we had no less than 5 old phones which we had hung onto and needed getting rid of! I hopped on one of these websites that you can sell old phones on and got a blinding offer of £1 - for all 5 phones!!! Maybe we'll hand onto them for a little longer! As part of clearing these of all the content, I found the picture on the left (on one of Essie's phones). It's a pic she took of her in the car one day. In one sense, nothing special but just shows those of you that know us well how big this girl is getting! | About the blogger:
Dave started blogging when, as a family, we went to live in India for 3.5 months in '08. You'll find out all about that story by going to our old blog here.
Dave overdid it a bit on the old blog in India with posts going up most days, so since returning to the UK, he has taken a bit of a break but feels now it's time to blog again! (July '09). Blogging is a weird thing and a bit voyeristic at times (!) so why do it? Surely life blogging in the UK will never be as exciting for people as it was in India? Well, the main reason for beginning to blog again is that we are pretty naff at the normal kind of communication! We have a number of good friends that do not live in the UK too and this is just one way we feel we can touch base with them. Feedback is that they are happy (ish) with that too! The final good reason for starting again is that the one person who has hassled me back to blogging is my older brother in China who runs a great blog about his bizzare life in China which you can view here. I guess if I am honest it's him I have in my mind when I blog so, for his sake (as I know he will read it!), if for no one elses...here goes....
